Gary Steele Karate Studio

My name is Becky Byars.

I began my martial arts training on May 7, 1998. My goal was to learn self defense. But I learned so much more. My training quickly became one of my favorite things to do. By the time I was a green belt, I was spending every free minute at Gary Steele Karate Studio, working on the leadership team.

As a brown belt, I was promoted to Assistant Instructor. I loved teaching kids what I knew! I received my First Degree Black Belt October 25, 2002. I continued to train every single day, including the weekend. I earned my second degree with the goal to earn my third. My training had turned into a full time career and I loved every minute of it! By the time I reached my third degree black belt, I decided I wanted to be the first woman to ever reach her fourth degree black belt at Gary Steele Karate Studio.

Discipline, perseverance, and hard work helped me earn my Fourth Degree Black Belt on June 30, 2007.
